Dance Parties - Frequently asked questions . . .
What's the age group?
Most people are in the 30s to 60s+ age group, but we don't have an upper age limit. Everyone is friendly so come along soon!
What shall I wear?
The dress code for party nights and speed dating events is: smart denim allowed, gents collared shirts only. We do not allow trainers, T-shirts, ripped or scruffy jeans, shorts, etc.
There may be other dress codes specified from time to time in our literature and on our website (for example for New Year's Eve and other special events). However, we always reserve the right to refuse admission and to vary or amend the dress code at our discretion. Neither Dance Parties Plus nor the venues where our functions are held, accept any responsibility for any articles of clothing or other items left or brought on to the premises. At all times, all such items are the sole responsibility of the owner.
Is there a membership fee?
Yes, but Party Membership is only £3 a year, except for our parties at Bird Hills and some Saturday parties where it is £5 a year. We are a members only club which means that you have to be a member if you wish to attend our events, so you'll need to join on arrival the first time you come along. We'll issue you with a super gold membership card straightaway. We have many, many thousands of members and this card will prove that you are a current member. Therefore you MUST bring it to ALL of our events. Anyone not producing a valid card will be viewed as a non-member and consequently will have to pay again to join. The renewal date for your membership will be the 1st day of the month shown on your card and if you are a Party Member the cost to renew for another year (when the time comes) will be £3.
What happens to the information I give on my registration slip?
All details supplied are stored by us in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and as such will not be shared with or divulged to any other organisation or person without your prior permission. We are registered with the Information Commissioner for Data Protection and our number is Z3133670.
How much do events cost?
Once you have your Party Member card, you'll pay the admission charge shown beside each event.
Do I need to prebook for events?
Generally speaking, you can just pay on the door for our Friday and Saturday parties, although if we are taking bookings in advance for any of these events that option will be shown on this website. When we have Speed Dating events you can book online in advance for those as well. You can pay online for our events using any credit or debit card and you'll see that payments are made through PayPal. You DO NOT have to have a PayPal account in order to make a payment and you DO NOT have to set up an account with PayPal either. Just follow the instructions as you make your payment online through this website ~ it's as easy as that! With regard to our New Year's Eve Parties, prebooking is generally advisable. Can I bring a friend who's a non-member?
Yes of course, and as a "thank you", you'll be entitled to free admission that evening! However to qualify, you must be a current member (and have your membership card with you) and your friend must be a genuine newcomer (not a previous member) and must join as a Party Member and pay the normal admission charge. Is it okay to come on my own?
Yes of course and many people do. Our staff will be there to give you a warm welcome and if you'd like to be introduced to other members, just ask when you arrive.
Can I smoke?
In line with current legislation, smoking is NOT allowed inside the premises at any of our events (nor do we allow "fake" cigarettes to be used inside premises). Staff from both Dance Parties Plus and the venue concerned do check to ensure that everyone complies with the new law and any individual found to be smoking will be permanently banned from all our events. In addition, the local council may impose a fine on the individual. Those wishing to smoke must do so outside the premises in the designated area(s). Thank you in advance for your co-operation.
Where can I park?
Don't worry, our venues have plenty of free on-site car parking.
Do you offer any concessions?
Yes, if you work for any of the 999 services (police, fire, NHS), bring along your ID card and we'll give you £2 off the normal admission price. If you are a member of another club, we'll give you a year's FREE MEMBERSHIP to Dance Parties Plus when you come along to your first DPP event. Just show us proof that you are a member of another club, such as a valid membership card, and we'll issue you with a gold Dance Parties Plus membership card there.
We give special discounts for groups too (more info HERE), so if you are planning a birthday party or other celebration and are bringing a group of people, give our office a call first on 0800 313 4441.
What about any special offers and promotions?

Can I stay overnight?
Many of the hotel venues where we hold our events do offer special rates to our Members. If so, information is generally shown beside each relevant event.

How will I know if an event is changed?
Sometimes events change due to circumstances beyond our control and if that happens we always do our utmost to let Members know. Depending on how last minute the change is, flyers will be available at events, information will be posted on the scrolling banner on this website and also under the section 'Event Changes & Updates'. Details of the change will be given on our *office voicemail message during the week of the changed event and, if time allows, we will email and/or SMS text those Members on our broadcast list (click here to receive email broadcasts) * HOWEVER, WE ALWAYS RECOMMEND you visit our website or ring us (0800 313 4441 or 07913 400444 or 077 299 33608) and double-check BEFORE setting out for an event. Dance Parties Plus cannot be held responsible for anything which does or does not take place or changes that are made to advertised events.
What if I arrive late at an event?
Generally speaking no matter what time you arrive at an event you will be expected to pay the normal admission charge. However, our staff may reduce the price but this is at their discretion.
