Frequently Asked Questions
What's the age group?
Most people are in the 30s-50s age group, but we don't have an upper age limit.
In addition, some of our party nights are now open to 25s
and over - these events are clearly marked "Over
25s".
What shall I wear?
The dress code for our Friday parties at Bird Hills,
Saturday party nights and Speed Dating events, is smart casual with no denims, trainers or
T-shirts, etc. At our other Friday parties we usually do allow smart denim
but again, no trainers, T-shirts, etc. However, you will see
details about the relevant dress code clearly specified in
the appropriate pages of this website. We always reserve the right to refuse admission and to vary or amend the dress code at our discretion.
Neither Dance Parties Plus nor the venues where our functions are
held, accept any responsibility for any articles of clothing
or other items left or brought on to the premises. At all
times, all such items are the sole responsibility of the
owner.
Is there a membership fee?
Yes, but Party Membership is only £5 a year! On your first visit to any
Dance Parties Plus event, we'll ask you to join as a Party Member and we'll give you your card there and then. We have many, many thousands of members and this card will prove that you are a current member. Therefore you MUST bring it to ALL
of our events. Anyone not producing a valid card will be viewed as a non-member and consequently will have to pay £5 to join. The renewal date for your membership will be the
1st day of the month shown on your card and the cost
to renew for another year (when the time comes) will be £3.
If you have a Singles Scene Party Member card and wish to
change it to a Dance Parties Plus plastic card before your
renewal date, you can do so by paying £3 at any of our
events. However, your expiry date will remain the same and
when your membership is due for renewal you will still have
to pay £3 to renew for another year. You can also become a Full Member or a VIP Member. For details, please ring Gill on 01344 292370.
n.b. Existing Full and VIP Members will be posted a new
Dance Parties Plus plastic card appropriate to their type of
membership as soon as possible but in the meantime may use
their current Singles Scene.
What happens to the information I give on my registration slip?
All details supplied are stored by us in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and as such will not be shared with or divulged to any other organisation or person without your prior permission. We are registered with the Information Commissioner for Data Protection and our number is Z9109031.
How much do events cost?
Once you have your Party Member card, you'll pay the admission charge shown beside each event.
Do I need to prebook for events?
No, you can just pay on the door and that applies to speed dating events too. However, prebooking for our New Year's Eve Party is generally advisable.
Can I bring a friend who's a non-member?
Yes of course, and as a "thank you", you'll be entitled to half price admission that evening! However, your friend must join as a Party Member and pay the normal admission charge.
Is it okay to come on my own?
Yes of course, many people do. Our staff will be there to give you a warm welcome and if you'd like to be introduced to other members, just ask when you
arrive.
Also, if you wish, we can give you a name badge to wear so
our Members will make a special effort to welcome you. Do
ask our staff if you'd like a name badge.
Can I smoke?
Effective 1st July 2007 and in line with new
legislation, smoking is NOT allowed inside the premises at any
of our events. Staff from both Dance Parties Plus and the venue concerned
do check to ensure that everyone complies with the new
law and any individual found to be smoking will be
permanently banned from all our events. In addition, the
local council may impose a fine on the individual. Those
wishing to smoke must do so outside the premises in
the designated area(s). Thank you in advance for your
co-operation.
Where can I park?
Don't worry, our venues have plenty of free on-site car parking.
Do you offer any concessions?
Yes, if you work for any of the 999 services (police, fire, NHS), bring along your ID card and we'll give you £2 off the normal admission price. We also offer concessions to members of some other clubs such as
Nexus, Stag, Dining With Friends, Convivial
Connections and Chums, and we are setting up similar arrangements with others clubs too. So if you belong to another club, bring that membership card along when you come to a
Dance Parties Plus event and if there is a concession set up, you'll get it!
We give special discounts for groups too, so if you are planning a birthday party or
other celebration, give our office a call on 01344 292370.
What about any special offers and promotions?
Yes, we often send special "money-off" offers via SMS text and
sometimes by email. To receive offers by SMS, simply text the word SINGLES to 07786 200350. To receive offers by email, click here and
type "special offers" in the subject box. You can
also check our Offers and Promotions page on this website. Click
here to jump to that page.
Can I stay overnight?
Many of the hotel venues where we hold our events do offer special rates to
our Members. Ring our office on 01344 292370 if you'd like more information.

What are Shared Events?
We aim to offer our Members as much variety as possible, so we've linked up with a few clubs whose events and areas don't conflict with ours. Quite simply, some of their events appear in our programme so you have the benefit of attending those and, in return, they include some of our events in their programmes, which brings more newcomers along to
Dance Parties Plus. If you'd like to attend any Shared Events, you'll need to contact the relevant club (you'll find contact details by each Shared Event). Click here for details.
How can I advertise in the brochure diary?
Simply contact Gill on 01344 292370 for rates and info.

How will I know if an event is changed?
Sometimes events change due to circumstances beyond our control and if that happens we always do our utmost to let Members know. Depending on how last minute the change is, flyers will be available at events, the home page of our website will give an update, details of the change will be given on our *office voicemail message during the week of the changed event and, if time allows, we will email those Members on our broadcast list (click here to receive email broadcasts and in the subject box type ADD TO BROADCAST LIST) * It's always a good idea to ring our office (01344 292370) and double-check before setting out for an event.
What do I do with my
raffle tickets? Collect and
keep all the raffle tickets you are given at our events and
don't miss the special monthly draw held at Bird Hills Golf
Club, when ALL the tickets issued at ALL events in that
month will stand a chance of winning one of our great
prizes! n.b. To be eligible to win, you need to be present
when the raffle is drawn as prizes are issued on the night,
not held over for collection after the event. For Bird Hills
raffle draw dates click
here.
What if I arrive late at an
event? Generally speaking no matter what time you
arrive at an event you will be expected to pay the normal
admission charge. However, our staff may reduce the
price but this is at their discretion. If you have been to a
Friday event at Bird Hills Golf Club and then go on to our
event at Apres Nightclub, you will be expected to pay an admission charge there of
£5, unless you're a VIP Member. (Your hand stamp will tell
us that you have come on from Bird Hills.)
