We carefully hand-pick our DJs to make sure that they’re the very best; it goes without saying that it’s vital to have the right music to guarantee a good time is had by all! At our party nights you can expect a good mix of chart and dance music from ’80s to date, including club classics, R&B, your favourite floor-fillers and some smoochy numbers too. Our DJs play requests too but this is at their discretion, so if you’ve asked for something that they think will clear the dance floor, they don’t have to play it!
If you know of a good DJ, we’d like to hear about him. Click HERE here to email us, or give our office a call on 01344 870277.
We are currently trying out some new DJs and once they’ve received the seal of approval(!) information about them will appear on this page.
We value YOUR feedback, so please do let us know what you think of them and their music!
HERE’S SOME BACKGROUND INFO ON OUR CURRENT DJs…
RODDY RICHARDSON – Roddy has worked as the resident DJ at Cavershams Night Club, Rebecca’s in Reading, Top Rank, and private functions of all kinds.
For the past 6 years, he’s been DJ-ing with his music partner Graham.
The boys say they aim to play what the people ask for, and with a collection of over 200,000 song titles they most certainly do!
IAIN ROBINSON: MUSICAL CONNECTIONS – Iain played his first gig at the tender age of 14 (they start young these DJs!).
His claim to fame is that he performed with Joslyn Brown and although one of his personal music preferences is funky-house, his choice of music at our discos is excellent and always very varied.
JOHN JACKSON “JJ” – JJ has DJ’d for us on and off for many years and he really knows how to create a fun party atmosphere.
He’s even managed to get our members Conga-ing at a Friday party night – no mean feat!
He’s a jolly guy with a great sense of humour and a vast music collection, so when he’s DJ-ing, come and expect a really great time!
KEN ROLPH: SUNSET DISCOS
Everyone was highly delighted when Ken returned to the fold last year – and we all continue to be so!
One of our most popular DJs, he’s renowned for his excellent mixing and wherever he goes, he creates a great atmosphere.
Carry on with the fab music Ken!
PETER RASON – Peter has a been a full time professional DJ for over 15 years.
He’s registered with many professional organisations and record label promotion companies to get the most up to date tracks available. He has supported The Real Thing (3 times), Edwin Starr (5 times) The Bootleg Beatles, and Bryan Ferry (twice) and he’s worked for the BBC and has done many parties at TV Centre in White City.
Peter says “The best feeling is having the dance floor full all night. Play to the people in front of you and never for yourself.”
DAVE COLLINS – Dave started DJ-ing at 14 on a family holiday, and went on to work in some of the best known venues in South East London in and around the Old Kent Road & Bermondsey as well as working on pirate radio and with a large agency.
He has run his own DJ business for some time now, entertaining at numerous weddings and parties. For the past 15 years he has specialised in Over 30s parties, holding a residency at a club throughout that time. “My main taste is Classic House, Garage, RnB, & 80s Soul plus anything current that fills the dance floor. I’m constantly updating my equipment to provide the best show possible, using multi-coloured lasers and moving heads. I just love seeing a full dance floor!”
