What is the age group?
Most people are in the 30s to 60s+ age group, but we don’t have an upper age limit. Everyone is friendly so come along soon!
What shall I wear?
The dress code for party nights smart casual and smart jeans are allowed. Shirts must have a collar. We do not allow trainers, T-shirts, jumpers, ripped or scruffy jeans, shorts, etc. There may be other dress codes specified from time to time in our literature and on our website (for example for New Year’s Eve and other special events). However, we always reserve the right to refuse admission and to vary or amend the dress code at our discretion. Neither Dance Parties Plus nor the venues where our functions are held, accept any responsibility for any articles of clothing or other items left or brought on to the premises. At all times, all such items are the sole responsibility of the owner.
Is there a membership fee?
Yes, but Party Membership is only £5 a year. We are a members only club which means that you have to be a member if you wish to attend our events, so you’ll need to join on arrival the first time you come along. We’ll issue you with a super gold membership card straightaway. We have many, many thousands of members and this card will prove that you are a current member. Therefore you MUST bring it to ALL of our events. Anyone not producing a valid card will be viewed as a non-member and consequently will have to pay again to join. The renewal date for your membership will be the 1st day of the month shown on your card and if you are a Party Member the cost to renew for another year (when the time comes) will be £5.
What happens to the information I give on my registration slip?
How much do events cost?
Once you have your Party Member card, you’ll pay the admission charge shown beside each event. If you do not bring a membership card with you then you will automatically be asked to register again and pay the £3 membership fee as well as the relevant admission charge. However if, when you come along the next time, you bring two membership cards which are both valid and in date, then we will refund you the £3 you paid for the replacement card which will then be retained by us.
Do I need to prebook for events?
Generally speaking, you have the choice to prepay online through our website, or pay on the door when you arrive. If you pay online for a Friday party then you will pay £2 less than if you paid on the door. Please note that the deadline for online bookings is usually 1pm on the day of the event, after that you will need to come along and pay the “on the door” price (subject to availability). Obviously all our venues have a limit as to how many people can be admitted so you should bear that in mind when deciding whether or not to prepay. We are unable to take prepayment over the phone but you can prepay online using any credit or debit card, or by cash at any other event if you wish.
Online payments are managed through PayPal. However, you DO NOT need to have a PayPal account in order to make a payment and you DO NOT have to set up an account with PayPal either; you CAN pay with any credit or debit card. Here’s how: Once you’ve added your ticket(s) to the cart, click “Checkout”. Then on the PayPal screen, click on “Check Out as a Guest” (at the bottom of the screen) and you will be able to pay with any credit or debit card.
With regard to our New Year’s Eve Parties, it is advisable to book in advance as these events usually sell out beforehand.
Can I bring a friend who’s a non-member?
Yes of course, and as a “thank you”, you’ll be entitled to free admission that evening! However to qualify, you must be a current member (and have your membership card with you) and your friend must be a genuine newcomer (not a previous member) and must join as a Party Member and pay the normal admission charge.
Is it okay to come on my own?
Yes of course and many people do. Our staff will be there to give you a warm welcome and if you’d like to be introduced to other members, just ask when you arrive.
Can I smoke?
In line with current legislation, smoking is NOT allowed inside the premises at any of our events (nor do we allow “fake” or electronic cigarettes to be used inside premises). Staff from both Dance Parties Plus and the venue concerned do check to ensure that everyone complies with legislation and any individual found to be smoking will be permanently banned from all our events. In addition, the local council may impose a fine on the individual. Those wishing to smoke must do so outside the premises in the designated area(s). Thank you in advance for your co-operation.
Where can I park?
Don’t worry, generally speaking our venues have plenty of free on-site car parking.
Can I bring my own drink to any of your party nights?
No one is allowed to bring their own drink (of ANY kind) in to any of our parties. ONLY drink purchased at the venue may be consumed on the premises and random searches of bags, etc. do take place. Any drink found will be confiscated and the person concerned banned from future parties. PLEASE NOTE: For safety reasons, no bottles, drinks or glasses are allowed on the dance floor at any time. Repeat offenders may be banned.
Do you offer any concessions?
Yes, if you work for any of the 999 services (police, fire, NHS), bring along your ID card and we’ll give you £2 off the normal admission price. You MUST show us your ID in order to receive this discount. If you are a member of another club, we’ll give you a year’s FREE MEMBERSHIP to Dance Parties Plus when you come along to your first DPP event. Just show us proof that you are a member of another club, such as a valid membership card, and we’ll issue you with a gold Dance Parties Plus membership card then and there. If you are wheelchair-bound then we will give you £2 off the normal admission price.

What about any special offers and promotions?

Can I stay overnight?
Many of the hotel venues where we hold our events do offer special rates to our Members. If so, information is generally shown beside each relevant event.

How will I know if an event is changed?
Sometimes events change due to circumstances beyond our control and if that happens we always do our utmost to let Members know. Depending on how last minute the change is, flyers will be available at events, information will be posted on the scrolling banner on this website and also here.
HOWEVER, WE ALWAYS RECOMMEND you visit our website or ring us (0800 313 4441 or 07913 400444 or 077 299 33608) and double-check BEFORE setting out for any event. Dance Parties Plus cannot be held responsible for anything which does or does not take place or changes that are made to advertised events.
What if I arrive late at an event?
Generally speaking no matter what time you arrive at an event you will be expected to pay the normal admission charge.
